We utilize various software tools to connect with both active and passive consulting candidates. Additionally, we leverage our extensive local networks to generate valuable referrals, and tap into our national network of affiliates when needed.
We have deployed consultants at companies across a broad range of industries including manufacturing and distribution, utility / energy, retail, high-tech, financial services, and healthcare. Our track record demonstrates our ability to match consultants with diverse needs, from small family-owned businesses to publicly traded global corporations.
Since our consultants are employees of Pinnacle and move from engagement to engagement, we can typically present 1-2 top consultants within 24 – 48 hours after conducting a comprehensive intake call or Zoom. Our ability to move quickly comes from staying closely aligned with our clients on consultant end dates and extensions. We also maintain a strong pipeline of vetted professionals who have been referred to us or previously engaged on successful projects.
Our consultants have passed our rigorous screening process that includes a battery of interviews, skills assessments, and reference checks. We identify professionals ready to make consulting the next phase of their career vs. a stopgap between employers. We offer them a competitive hourly pay rate and a benefits package that includes healthcare, dental, and vision insurance options, paid time off, holiday pay, 401k match, and a continuing education stipend.
Our consultants range in experience from Senior Accountants to CFOs. Our bench includes audit, tax, FP&A, treasury, payroll, and various other accounting professionals who are ready for immediate deployment. Outside of traditional accounting and finance titles, we’ve provided clients with consultants specialize in inventory optimization, Procure-to-Pay analysis, M&A integration, Project Management over system integrations and strategic initiatives, business analysis, and more.
We work primarily on a contingency basis; you only pay if you hire a candidate we present. We also offer retained and contained search options and will recommend the approach that best aligns with your hiring needs. Our fee covers the full recruitment process, including sourcing, screening, and reference checks (when applicable), with background checks and drug screens available at cost. We also offer a guarantee period, during which we will replace the candidate or provide a prorated refund if the hire doesn’t work out under the agreed terms.
We focus exclusively on IT, Accounting, Finance, and related business areas within the Pittsburgh and Detroit areas, working with public, private, and nonprofit organizations across a broad range of industries, such as manufacturing and distribution, energy, retail, construction, real estate, technology, financial services, healthcare, private equity, and more. We do have a national reach as well!
Beyond skills, we evaluate communication style, work preferences, and values through our interviews and discussions. We also gather cultural insights from you during intake so we can screen with your environment in mind.
Both. Many of our placements are passive candidates, professionals not actively applying to jobs but open to the right opportunity, which gives you access to talent you won’t find through job postings alone.
We use a combination of targeted headhunting, our extensive network, and referrals. Every candidate goes through a thorough screening, including resume review, in-depth interviews, skills and background verification, and reference checks (when applicable).
We begin with a thorough intake to understand your company, the role, and key hiring criteria. From there, we source and screen top talent, presenting only highly qualified candidates for your review. You’ll have a dedicated point of contact providing regular updates and facilitating all communication, interview coordination, and feedback between you and the candidate. We manage the process through to offer stage, including salary negotiations, to ensure a smooth and efficient hire. Typical searches take 3–6 weeks, but can be longer, depending on the role and market conditions.
Many of our consulting roles offer flexible work arrangements, including remote or hybrid schedules. We’ll clearly communicate each client’s expectations so you can make an informed decision.
Yes! We actively market our consultants for several relevant opportunities at once. We’ll always keep you informed on where your résumé is being submitted and any updates we receive from clients.
We take the time to understand your experience, preferences, and career goals. Our team uses a mix of technology, market knowledge, and strong client relationships to identify roles that are a great fit for your background.
You’ll have a dedicated point of contact at Pinnacle who checks in regularly to ensure your assignment is going smoothly. We’re here to support you with everything from client communication to timesheet and payroll questions.
When you’re placed on a consulting engagement, you’ll be employed by Pinnacle but contracted to work at our client. That means we handle your payroll, benefits, and support, while you perform your day-to-day work at the client site or remotely, depending on the assignment.
Yes, we offer a robust benefits package to all full-time W-2 consultants employed through Pinnacle. Our benefits include comprehensive health insurance (medical, dental, and vision), paid time off (PTO), options for life insurance and short-term disability coverage, and 401(k) plan with a 3% employer match. Eligibility and enrollment details are provided during onboarding.

You’ll receive updates and feedback at each stage, even if you’re not selected, and we’ll handle salary negotiations to help you secure the best possible offer. Timelines vary, some candidates find the right role quickly, while others take longer depending on the role type, market conditions, and overall fit. And the best part?
