This month marks the 15-year anniversary of Pinnacle. I’m as shocked as anybody.
Before starting Pinnacle, one of my greatest professional achievements might have been doing stand-up comedy at a club where Pearl Jam would perform a few weeks later. Although, to be fair, I was also a proud Deloitte and Westinghouse alum, so I wasn’t starting completely from scratch.
When I founded Pinnacle 15 years ago, survival was probably the biggest goal. But I think I always had another goal, too.
I wanted to build a community.
A place where people cared about each other. Where they liked working together. Where they had fun together. And where those relationships extended beyond the walls of the company to our clients, friends and the broader community.
Fifteen years later, I can confidently say we’ve done that. And that might be the thing I’m proudest of.
I’ve had an unbelievable amount of help along the way, from former partners, teammates, clients, friends and especially my incredibly supportive wife, Alicia.
There have been a lot of wins, plenty of mistakes, some difficult stretches and a ridiculous amount of fun. But when I think about the last 15 years, what I remember most isn’t the numbers.
It’s the people.
Thanks to everyone who has been part of Pinnacle’s first 15 years. It’s been so much fun doing this.
And it’s always been about the people.
Thank you,
Colin Powell
CEO

When a key employee leaves, organizations can lose much more than a person. Years of knowledge about processes, systems, relationships, and business decisions can leave with them. For accounting, finance, and IT leaders, protecting that knowledge is an important part of maintaining business continuity, especially as year-end approaches.
